SNOWFALL AT DUSK

SNOWFALL AT DUSK

24×24″ oil on canvas, 2011
available framed
I still remember this day. I was leaving my office shortly before dusk and the snow began to fall in large slow flakes. I was struck by the quiet heavy atmosphere and knew I wanted to drive around and look for just such a scene that would inspire a painting. As I drove near the Omaha Zoo, I came to this ascending hill with a narrow gravel road. I sat here for quite a while, making a study of the moment. This painting was executed after I painted a sketch of the same scene.
