SUMMIT

10×12″ oil on canvas, 2004
private collection (MN)
Mom and Dad have a special parcel of land in Summit County, Minnesota, near Blooming Prairie. On this site, during Prohibition, Al Capone ran one of his moonshine operations. Rumor has it that the still that once produced 1,800 gallons per week is buried near this cluster of oak trees on the property. With the recent rediscovery of an artesian well on the parcel, we believe it may have been the reason this site was chosen to be home to Capone’s moonshine.
